  3. Dot Matrix is designed to look like an old dot matrix printer
  4. font, the kind you used to get from your IBM compatible printer
  5. in the old days (before the sweet gods revealed PostScript).

  7. I developed the font because I needed to create a pill bottle
  8. label for a movie that I was creating props for. I'm sure some-
  9. body could find some use for it too. The font was created with
  10. Fontographer 3.0.

  12. Dot Matrix contains an odd assortment of characters, since some
  13. of the more detailed and tiny Macintosh characters don't make
  14. sense when you make them with a lot of dots. For example, the
  15. registration mark character (option-R) is too complex and tiny to
  16. create in a bunch of tiny dots. In their place, I have included
  17. some greek characters which one is more likely to find in the
  18. character sets of IBM-compatible dot matrix printers. There are
  19. 186 characters in the font.

  21. The file here contains the screen and printer fonts and AFM file
  22. (not that you would need the AFM file). The screen fonts come in
  23. sizes 10, 12, 14, 18, and 24. The screen fonts look a little
  24. strange, but the printer font looks much better.
